Foundation Phase parent/carer pack - Return to school February 2021

Dear parents/carers,

In the document tab of OurSchool's app, on our website under 'Newsletters' the updated parent/carer pack that outlines the plan for returning Foundation Phase pupils to school after February half term is now available. We have also emailed this pack to all parents/carers today.

Please can I ask that you take time out to read this document carefully, so that you are aware of all new arrangements in place, remind yourself of existing arrangements and how we plan to keep our children safe in school on their return.

It is important to me that you receive this as soon as possible so you are well informed. I will be attending live sessions with Early Years (Thursday 11.02.21 at 9.30am), Year 1 (Friday 12.02.21 9.30am) and Year 2 (Thursday 11.02.21 at 11am) to run through the arrangements, provide better explanation around some changes and take any questions you may have.

I must stress that we are still awaiting answers on several queries we've raised and have been informed that unions are challenging Welsh Government and Local Authorities about the return to school, so please keep in mind that the current plan may have to change before the return after half term. We are unlikely to hear answers for the queries we've raised this week, so all we can do is plan from the information we have got answers to and communicate this well in advance for yourselves to be prepared.

If any changes are required, I will be updating this document and communicating them to you as soon as possible, even if over the half term break. We are hopeful that there won't be any significant changes and this plan will be how we run.

Thank you for continued support of our school. Enjoy your half term break. Please reward yourselves and your children for the excellent effort you've put in this half term with being parents, employees, online learners and home teachers.

We look forward to seeing the children after the half term break.

Best wishes,
Stephen Thomas
