What an interesting first week back for us all.
Late on Monday afternoon we were informed schools would be operating online learning until Monday 18th January at today we were informed schools will now continue to be closed until at least the 29th January, with it being likely this will be the situation until February half term.
It has been incredibly difficult with the short notice we are receiving often on changes, decisions and requirements of us, especially with today's announcement being out in the public before we are were made aware. However, I'm incredibly proud of the effort of the team at Bryn to set up the online learning provision and the response from our children (over 75% of children in Key Stage have attended the live learning this week and just over 50% in Foundation Phase). This is a great start and with the devices handed out to families today, hopefully that number will continue to grow. Thank you for all of your support parents and carers in ensuring the children attend these sessions. The only way this will work is through all working together as a team.
Next week, staff will be making calls home to pupils not engaging in the online learning and looking for ways to support work during this time. These calls will come up as withheld caller and we kindly ask that you work with us in answering the calls and we will do all we can to help.
Well done to all on a good start to what is an unwanted situation for us all. I have no doubt continuing as we have started will ensure our children get the best during this next lockdown period. With the focus on returning to the curriculum in the Autumn Term so quickly and a focused online learning provision during this next period of lockdown, I have no doubt this will put our children in the best position to continue making progress and pick up where we left off when we can all get back into school.
Thank you all again and enjoy your weekend.
